A Week of Celebration

You’ll never guess where I went recently…

Okay maybe you can lol — BABY VOX REUNION CONCERT IN LA!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s funny because I’ve been such a hermit for so long, only Baby VOX can pull me out from under the rock lol. “NO! I WILL NOT GO OUTSIDE!” and “Okay but if Baby VOX is there, I will consider it hehehe.”

OMG when I found out they were going to perform in LA I was like SIGN ME UPPPPPPPP I’M GOINGGGGGGGG!!! I could not believe they were already having a reunion concert in the states so soon considering they just had the first ones in Korea late last year. I also stupidly thought they were going to have English translations for their US concert!? Silly me, they did not lol. And I didn’t bring a translator with me either, wahhhhhhhhhh!!! Plus, I haven’t gotten very far in my Duolingo Korean classes yet. So… the only word I understood was JUSEYO (which means please) lol. Maybe in the future I’ll understand more 😔

Oh, I almost fangirled a bit when I walked past Eun Hye’s manager while heading into the venue, which also happened during the first concert, but I held it together both times! Idk, it’s kinda weird to be like OMG ARE YOU EUN HYE’S MANAGER I THINK YOU’RE SO RAD FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD AND CARING MANAGER while they’re clearly busy working. So… I just walked past her with that acknowledgement to myself as I didn’t want to weird her out ;_;

The concert started with this quiz game where it was all in Korean and I had no idea wtf was going on but I think people were winning some cosmetic prizes or something like that. And then they moved onto karaoke and omg…….. it’s probably because Baby VOX’s songs are made for higher voices but the guys singing their songs sounded soooooooo… off… it was shockingly hilarious!!! The ladies did a great job though, but the guys omg…. I couldn’t stop laughing from how horrible it was lol. How amusing lmao. I never want to hear them sing Baby VOX’s songs again. My ears XD

Also, the concert was a bit different from the Korea one. They didn’t seem to have their entire crew with them or all of their stage set stuff but it’s understandable since they had to travel far. I think they did a great job for what they had access to. I was still very entertained the entire time and had a great time. So glad that I went to both though because I got to notice what was different about each.

For example, not all of the solos were the same. Instead of singing her other song, MiYoun decided to sing Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up song this time. I think she did an amazing job! There was a moment where she suddenly moved both of her hands up to her heart area and closed her eyes, and it looked like she was praying. When I noticed what was happening, I was like 😮 and then I lifted my own hands up to my own heart to pray with her. I’m unsure what was happening within her, and I’m not religious though so it was me sending loving energy outwards. But I thought that was *such* a beautiful moment. Idk if she planned that or if it was spontaneous but omg… that gesture touched my heart so much. It definitely felt more like a spontaneous thing, not a planned gesture. Like perhaps she was feeling into the love she was feeling at that moment and naturally reached for her heart?

A bit of an aside — I’ve actually been listening to this other song of hers that she sings with her husband:

Of course, I’ve been listening to it on repeat lol. There’s something about MiYoun’s voice that really wraps around my heart and feels like I’m being hugged and healed. Idk how to describe it really but that’s the best description I can come up with. I wonder if that’s why I like MiYoun so much — her voice is SO healing to me. Almost like any pain I feel in my heart gets hugged by loving energy and I immediately feel a sense of relief.

Anyway, just wanted to mention that moment when she started praying was soooooo special. I was like yeeeeeeeeee let’s spread some loving energy together weeeeeeeeee~~~ lol

ALSO, SHE THEN TROLLED EVERYONE WITH HER PAPPARAZZI SONG WHERE IT LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS GOING TO PERFORM IT AND THEN SHE JUST IMMEDIATELY WALTZED OFF THE STAGE!!! I think people were like ?!?!? It’s understandable though, she just had to Josh Groban it and I’m sure that was rough, not an easy song to sing. She probably needed some recovery time lol. That was so funny though. It made sense to me why she “intro’ed” Heejin for that song, since the song is hers, but yeah what a silly lady. And of course when she came out to do the rapper solo, and the rest of Baby VOX came out as her gang members, it was so freaking cute and adorable. Loved it so much!!!

What was also great about the concert this time around is that I listened to a lot of the songs I didn’t know from their first reunion concert enough times that I was able to enjoy them a lot more this time around during their LA concert. I think I must’ve known every song on the setlist, which was super cool. I kept moving around in my chair because I couldn’t sit still from all of the excitement.

One thing that was interesting, I found, is that as I was there observing the group, I noticed the energy was a bit different this time around than last time. And I wonder if it’s because they didn’t have their full crew, were in a foreign country, stressed about what was out of their control, etc. While I did notice some strange things happening, like a bit of feedback from the mics from time to time, I legit didn’t care. Hopefully it didn’t bother them too much and that they could feel all of the love and adoration from the crowd. People were so happy and dancing and stuff, at least the ones around me, and the place looked really packed.

This trip felt kind of different than the one in Korea. I think when I was in Korea, I was searching for something within me. But this trip? It felt more like a celebration. Like, I legit just wanted to celebrate with them. Idk. I’m going to guess whatever I needed to integrate from the first reunion concert had integrated. And this time I got to just enjoy myself for the sake of enjoyment. Pretty rad ☺️

Oh!!! I also took the opportunity to visit one of my good friends. We met each other when we were in college I think. We were both playing this online MMO where we can “tame pets” and use them for battle. I remember loading into town one day and my friend was just standing there, idled. I noticed her name and thought it was so cute. Turns out, we were in sister guilds. We ended up fighting together in raids to defend our bases, which was really cool.

What’s interesting is this even though we know each other so well, basically feel like sisters at this point, we’ve only met in person twice lol. I guess since we are both pretty introverted, it’s not that important to see each other in person. But we did talk A LOT on the phone and stuff. Also, my parents know of our friendship, which is really cute. Sometimes my mom would ask me how my friend is doing and I’m like awww you remember her even though (at the time) I’ve never met her lmao. This had me reflect on a lot of my friendships where even with very little “in person” time, we maintain strong friendships. I guess sometimes just knowing someone is there to talk to us through things, witness us, listen to our story, is already helpful and bonding enough.

What I love about this friend is how open minded she is. She was the person I mentioned in my earlier post about how even though she didn’t understand anything I was talking about regarding twin flames or spirituality, she at least didn’t judge me and trusted that I knew what I was doing. It’s so hard to find people like this. Even I don’t know if I can do that for others so well. Also, another thing about this friend is that she’s so genuinely sweet that sometimes I have to reflect on my own behavior. Like… sometimes after interacting with her I seriously think about am I being the person I think I am? Because she raises the bar high lol. And I guess it’s motivation for me to do better.

Anyway, we had such a lovely time enjoying a beautiful meal together. A meal that we both continue to think about because the food was so good omg lmao. So glad we had that moment together and am looking forward to more moments like that. We actually discussed about, when the time is right, potentially vacationing together overseas. Not in the same hotel room obviously, but like to the same location and just chill together there. I’m so excited about that possibility!!! I think I’ve always wanted to vacation with friends in a foreign place. I think it could be really fun! We shall see.

ONE MORE THING!!! I had been writing for my blog pretty much nonstop for an entire year. I decided to also take this vacation to give myself a break. I didn’t write, I didn’t do anything blog related. I just rested, enjoyed good food and good company. I think I deserved the week off lol. Whoo! That was such a lovely trip. A bit too short, wish I had more time to stay longer, but it was totally worth heading over there. Great memories! 🥰
