Omg so I started following this lady, Emma Jones, on Instagram because her content SLAPS. It’s so thought provoking and I absolutely love that she includes references!
For days, I had wanted to leave comments on her reels but I was afraid. I’m aware my jokes/comments don’t always land properly the way I intend, because autism. So, I kind of kept quiet while loving all of the reels I came across of hers, until I saw a reel where she covered a topic that’s near and dear to me.
I racked my brain trying to explain my thoughts on the topic and almost confused the heck out of myself from where my mind was going lol. Articulating certain types of thoughts feels like I’m dealing with a tongue twister. But I was like FK it! That was enough torment for the moment lol. I think there’s value in what I have to share and submitted the comment anyway.
I kind of forgot about it until I received a notification later that day that my comment had received a response! I got so excited and immediately went to go check. I wanted to cry when I saw that she understood what my gobbledygook meant and I didn’t have to explain myself further 😭. She pointed out the impermanence of life in one simple sentence and I guess that’s what I was alluding to in a very roundabout way with my long and meandering comment lol.
Do you know how few people I’ve encountered who can actually understand the stuff that goes on in my mind? I wanted to cry!! The amount of times I’ve said something and watched the person across from me just go like, “Wha……….?” is too high lol.
I was so happy that there are people who CAN and are willing to understand me, not try to make it seem like I’m weird or stupid. What a special experience! Excited to see what else she shares 😊
